Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between social support and anxiety among drug-related inmates at Class IIA Correctional Facility in Bukittinggi. Using a quantitative correlational approach, 72 male inmates were selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using validated social support and anxiety scales. Results showed that social support was mostly in the moderate (58.33%) and high (41.67%) categories, while anxiety levels were mostly moderate (75%) and low (25%). Pearson analysis revealed a significant negative correlation between the two variables (r= -0.687, p = 0.001).
