The purpose of this study is to ascertain how stress levels affect the smoking habits of Padang City's early adult female population. Unintentional sampling was the sample approach employed in this quantitative study. 84 Padang City early adult women made up the entire sample, as defined by the G-Power statistical tool version 3.1.9.4. With a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), the findings of a straightforward linear regression analysis revealed a strong positive connection. Additionally, the obtained R-square value was 0.416, suggesting that among early adult women, stress levels accounted for 41.6% of smoking behavior. These results imply that early adult women's smoking behavior may worsen in response to elevated stress levels. The study's findings support the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha), indicating that stress levels and smoking behavior among Padang City's early adult women are significantly positively correlated.
